Ponies must be 13-15 yrs. old on May 1. Under the coordinator’s discretion, an “old” twelve year old may play on the Pony team if there are not enough players signed up to field a team or more likely, if more players are needed to split the level into two teams to prevent having one very large team. No player may “play down” – meaning anyone 16 yrs. of age or older on May 1 may not play in the Leelanau County Youth League.
The Pony level of the LCYL is currently inactive. There are other options which can be pursued for these older boys in the Northwest Lower Michigan area including American Legion and several travel ball teams.
